The small mountain range of the Brescia Prealps includes three different mountains of limestone origin.
The mountain called "Corna Trentapassi" is one of these, known for its proximity to Lake Iseo. A characteristic name that derives from the wrong translation of the Brescia expression "Trè Tapàsch", which the inhabitants used to refer to the three mountains.
The hiking trail that starts from Zone and continues along the entire Corna Trentapassi mountain, reaching the top, offers an incredible observation point over the whole of Lake Iseo.
Along the path, visitors are also able to admire the top of Mount Bronzone and the profile of Mount Guglielmo, as well as the beautiful surrounding valleys.
Once you reach the end of the path, you will find yourself completely immersed in the greenery, with the reflection of the waters of the lake to complete it all.
A spectacular view, which does justice to the Brescia landscape and all its strengths.
The easiest access point to the Corna Trentapassi route is Zone, a town that is about 680 meters high.
It is advisable to arrive by car, also because the path is quite easy to take. Just pay attention to the last part of the climb, which is characterized by the presence of the return necessary to reach the town.
In Zone, you will then find convenient parking lots where you can park your car and continue on foot. Following the signs for Corna Trentapassi you will easily find the mule track from which you start to get to the top of the mountain.
Before briefly describing the route, we reassure you by ensuring its simplicity. There are not too many complex points to overcome, the summit can also be earned by those who are not used to hiking.
The whole route is reasoned uphill, the difference in height to be tackled is about 600 meters, while the length is 3 km.
You will not encounter any refreshment points along the way, so remember to leave with a bottle of water and some snacks.
We have already seen which is the most convenient access point, namely the village of Zone. To be precise, the actual route begins in the hamlet of Cusato, where you leave the paved road to continue along a mule track in good condition.
There are several paths already structured for hikers, some simpler, others a little less. Families will find path 229 comfortable, while those who prefer more "difficult" routes can choose 229A. The differences between the two can only be seen for the first stretch, the wooded one that leads to the Forcellino di Zuf.
At the Forcellino the two paths rejoin and then continue towards the first viewpoint, or the Anticima Est Corna Trentapassi. Here there is a very particular metal cross which, illuminated by the sun, reflects along the entire slope of the mountain and the surrounding peaks.
From the East Summit, continue along a slightly steeper stretch, which is the last part of the climb. In the end, you will find the Corna Trentapassi peak, from which you can observe Lake Iseo, Monte Vignole, and Monte Isola.
Allow yourself a few moments to observe the landscape and the beauty of the surrounding nature, as well as to rest from the effort of the climb.
In the descent phase, follow the same path chosen on the outward journey, passing through the Anticipa Est and path 229.
You will return to Zone satisfied with the unique experience and the memory of an out-of-the-ordinary view.
