What to see in Rimini

In Emilia-Romagna, there is certainly no shortage of beautiful things to see, and in Rimini, you can find many, enclosed in this particularly evocative and modern Italian city. Rimini does not represent the cities you are used to, it has become synonymous with sea, fun, innovation, and relaxation. In a word, for many Rimini is the summer. But the capital of the province of the same name is much more than that: it is possible to visit Rimini all year round, because it is a city always on the move, welcoming all types of travelers.

The Romagna Riviera

Marina di Rimini is a very popular seaside resort in Italy and is reached every summer by thousands of tourists looking for experiences of fun and relaxation on the beach. This stretch of the Romagna Riviera offers all the comforts for those who want to relax on the beach but also for those who love sports, such as beach volleyball, tennis, and much more. In summer many events are organized but also in winter, it is worth taking a walk along the coast or stopping for an aperitif in the many bars in the area.

The Malatesta Temple

As we said, Rimini is not just sea and summer, here you can see very special works of art. The Malatesta Temple is not a monument, it is the Church of Santa Colomba and is the cathedral of the city of Rimini. The structure of the temple was designed by Leon Battista Alberti, while the frescoes were entrusted to Piero Della Francesca, Giotto, and Giorgio Vasari. The cathedral was built at the behest of Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta to celebrate his lineage, unfortunately, it remained unfinished even if it represents a real jewel particularly loved by the citizens.

The Arch of Augustus

In the historical center of Rimini it is possible to find an agglomeration of magnificent works and monuments. Here you will find the majestic Arch of Augustus, the oldest preserved Roman arch, while in the nearby Casa del Chirurgo, in Piazza Ferrari, there is an archaeological excavation. Here it is possible to see the remains of a Roman domus that belonged to a doctor. Also near the Malatesta Temple, you can easily reach the main square of the city, Piazza del Tre Martiri, where the ancient Roman Forum was located. In Piazza dei Tre Martiri you cannot miss the Clock Tower, built in 1500, and the Arch of Augustus, built in 27 B.C., which gave access to the city to those coming from the Via Flaminia.
