THINES Campsite is located west of the village of Finikounda, which has grown and developed into one of the most stunning summer resorts of the southern Peloponnese. On the other side, there are the Messinian Oinousses islands, with their exuberant flora and fauna that creates a unique arbutus forest in the Mediterranean. This family-run campsite awaits you with its warm and friendly atmosphere.

This campsite hosts 50 separate pitches surrounded by nature, for you to spend a fantastic holiday with friends and family, in your privacy. It has space for a small or big tent, a caravan, or a camper, so you can choose the best option for you! 

The services 

All guests have access to many facilities for their best comfort and a pleasant stay. There is a minimarket with all your daily needs, a refreshment bar, a restaurant where you can delight yourself with traditional greek foods, a laundry area with washing machines, cooking facilities, and very clean sanitary blocks with showers and toilets. Wifi access is also available for the campers. 

The surroundings

Explore the beauties around this campsite! The village of Finikounda has a large seaside, was founded at least in the middle of the 19th century, while, in the 1940s, and is one of the most important tourist resorts of Messenia, while the traditional houses and the building of the Old Primary School, founded in 1925, stand out. Finally, the stunning beach with its golden sand and turquoise waters is at a distance of a few meters to the south of the village. 

In front of the campsite, from May to August, the Loggerhead turtles (Carettacaretta) bury their eggs on the beach! It happens during the night and some quietness during this moment is essential! In the morning, the campsite put sticks around the nest to protect it, in 50 to 60 days it is possible to see the baby turtles hatching.
